Glastonbury FC, known as the Dollies, was founded in 1890 and has a deeper competitive history than its current level might suggest. The club won the Western League title three times, in 1948–49, 1950–51 and 1969–70.

Its historical high point also includes reaching the FA Cup first round in 1950–51. The club now plays at Abbey Moor Stadium and remains part of the town’s sporting infrastructure.
